What to Expect

The central Seattle waterfront has layers of stories, many of them hidden from view like the beach that once welcomed Coast Salish canoes. Join HistoryLink historian Jennifer Ott on a one-mile walking tour across time to explore the piers and people, ships and railroads, and ever-evolving landscape of the waterfront.

This walking tour starts at Occidental Park, making its way along the waterfront and finishing at Pier 62. Recommended age: 4 years and older.  Group size is limited, register on Eventbrite to reserve your spot for free. The entire session will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.

These tours also happen to coincide with First Thursday Art Walks in Pioneer Square. See that listing for art, restaurant, and parking options.

Organizer

Why does Seattle need this directory?

1

Covid has ruined the travel plans of so many people.  Maybe you are one of them.  Family trips, honeymoons, first time overseas trips postponed and cancelled.  Please explore this directory to create your own Round-the-World experience without traveling far from Seattle.

2

Believe it or not, in 2022, New York City passed a law granting non-US citizens the right to vote in certain local and municipal elections.  Will Seattle follow NYC?  Time will tell.  If that comes to be, then this directory should be indispensable.  Let us know what you think.
