Event Overview
This session is an opportunity to explore whether the fellowship is the right fit for you!
What Is the Global Classroom Educator Fellowship?
The Global Classroom Educator Fellowship (GCEF) is a pilot-year professional learning community that supports educators in integrating global perspectives and real-world issues into their classrooms.
Through a combination of virtual learning sessions, in-person workshops, and collaborative projects, fellows explore how global topics connect to local communities — helping students think critically, engage thoughtfully, and better understand the world around them.
The fellowship aligns with Washington State Learning Standards, emphasizing civic engagement, inquiry, cultural understanding, and communication across subject areas.
Why Attend an Open House?
The open houses are designed to help you decide if the fellowship fits your goals, schedule, and teaching context. During the session, you’ll:
Get an overview of the fellowship structure, timeline, and expectations
Learn about the learning themes, capstone project, and community of practice
Hear how the fellowship supports classroom-ready, standards-aligned instruction
Review eligibility, cost, clock hours, and application details
Ask questions and connect with the Global Classroom team
Whether you’re actively planning to apply or just exploring, you’re welcome.
